| | Our Mission
Jesus taught us “to love the Lord your God with all your heart, with
all your mind, with all your soul and with all your strength, and to love your
neighbor as yourselves.” We, as members of the body of Christ and Falling
Waters Presbyterian Church, strive to be an extended family reaching out to one
another, our community and the world. In accordance with the constitution
of PC (USA), we endeavor to achieve:
“The great ends of the church
which are the proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind; the shelter,
nurture and spiritual fellowship of the children of God; the maintenance
of divine worship; the preservation of the truth; and the promotion of social
righteousness; and the exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world.”
In
offering ourselves to their sacred mission, we will show the way of Christ
so that the community and the world in which we live may learn “to do justice,
love mercy, and to walk humbly with God.”

Our Congregation
The members of Falling Waters warmly welcome you in the name of Christ. We
are so glad that you are here! Our site gives you some information about
who we are, what missions we are involved in and how we worship.
Our
congregation includes students, babes in arms, parents and families, independents,
and elder generations with diverse interests and experiences. We believe
the Good News of Jesus Christ; therefore God calls us to welcome all and to share
this good news with everyone.
As disciples of Jesus Christ, we worship
a knowable God and study the Bible’s witness to God’s saving work in our
lives and the lives of others. As a result, we experience in our relationships
and personal lives a love that heals, a hope that sustains and a forgiveness
that brings peace.
We are Christians living learning sharing
and growing within a fellowship unique in the world. We invite you to
join our family and our journey towards our fulfillment and spiritual joy in Jesus
Christ.

Church History
Falling Waters Presbyterian Church was established in 1745 just south of the ford
of the Potomac River at Williamsport, MD. In 1796 the place of worship was
moved from the bend of the Potomac to Spring Mills. The present brick structure
was built in 1834 after a fire had destroyed the wooden edifice.
